ORIGINAL PLUM PUDDING
The Christmas Pudding as we know it was first introduced to the festive table in the early 18th century. They were called Plum Puddings from the common name then used for currants and raisins. Until the seedless raisin was introduced, raisins came with seeds, were much larger, and when cooked, must have looked like a small plum or damson. |
| Little Jack Horner probably had a large seeded raisin stuck on his thumb when he put it into his Christmas pie. We have included some of these old fashioned raisins in our recipe - although it's not to encourage you to play with your food! Enjoy! | |
